Hmmm, why did I stay up to watch the One Hit Wonders of the 80s last night? I was flipping channels, heard a familiar song and the next thing I know I'm getting cozy on my couch and settling in to watch the countdown.
Worst of all...the #1 "One Hit Wonder" of the 1980s was Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners. Had I known that, I would have gotten my zzzzzzzzs earlier.
(It was kind of fun to see videos that I hadn't seen in ages from the early years of MTV: the hair, the makeup, the costumes...mostly, the hair!)
On a high note, I did find forgotten Easter candy and that tastes just as sweet in July...

I can't turn that trash off either. Have you seen the I Love the 70s/80s/90s series on VH-1? It's like a car crash you can't help but watch!
ReplyDeleteI love all those shows on VH1. I can't turn the channel when I come across one. I had already seen that particular one and could have told you the #1 song was C'mon Eileen, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize that song was a one hit wonder? I love VH-1's series!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! I don't watch much TV so I don't usually get sucked into that stuff, but my hubs totally watched a "Behind the Music" marathon one time when we were in HAWAII!!!! We still crack up laughing at that one!!!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness--I would TOTALLY stay up all night to watch something like that.
ReplyDeleteI hate when I get sucked into something on tv when I should be going to bed!

Oh, yeah, that show is ADDICTIVE. It's really bad. And now I have Come on Eileen stuck in my head. GAH!!!
ReplyDeleteI would totally have done the same thing! Come On Eileen? I liked that song, but I wouldn't have thought it was number one!
ReplyDeleteI would've loved that show! Remember when VH1 actually DID videos? They all do reality shows now. I think only GAC (which sounds like it's spelled) does vids anymore...
ReplyDeletei just ate a cadbury egg today. it was AWESOME.
