Random Tuesday Thoughts

Bug's babysitter gave him a fish over the weekend. I have a bad history with fish. Even though I haven't had a fish since high school, the poor little things didn't last longer than a week or so. I'm thankful Bug's fish is still swimming on day four. Bug named him: Whalesharkfish. Catchy, no? When Whalesharkfish swims and Bug is near the fishbowl, Bug's convinced WSF is waving to him.
I swear I've purchased more ketchup since Bug came into the world that all my other years on earth combined. I get the gigantic 3-pack at Costco (12,000 ounces or something like that) and we finish the bottles before I make it back to Costco. Until Bug came along it never would have occurred to me to put ketchup on broccoli or rice or anything else that isn't considered dessert however, I there was a time when I loved ketchup sandwiches.
Ah, Costco. I just found out a new Costco is being built by the mall with a Target, Macy's and most important Mrs. Field's Cookies that's fairly close to me. The sign said Coming Soon and I really hope it's sooner than later.

  1. Love the name. We "won" a fish a couple years back at the state fair. It didn't make it four days. Too much flouride in our tap water. Hubster replaced it with a 75 gallon tank and lots of new fish. It must be a guy thing.

  2. memories...i was a little kid who put ketchup on EVERYTHING!! I think I hated the taste of EVERYTHING but ketchup. (I'm still a picky eater...but no more ketchup).

Oh little boys and their literalness. whalesharkfish. lol. Just be sure to not put your fish in an old juice container with the lid on-turns out fish get oxygen from our air. Who knew?

  3. Princess Nagger got a fighting fish - it's only lasted as long as it has because I'm the one feeding it and cleaning out its bowl! Love the name Bug picked for his fish! Too cool! :)

I love Costco, though we don't have one in our area. At least we have BJ's, which is similar, but not. :)

  4. Love WSF... We've killed a lot of fish, but "Barako" is still king of the tank.

I wish we had a Costco...

  5. My kids used to be like that! Ketchup on everything! That's how they knew they were related to my dad.
We don't have a Costco around here, but we have a Sam's Club. We LOVE it!

  8. Love the name! We are probably the only home in America with small children that has not had a petfish. I have however been successful with raising hermit crabs!

  11. We had a beta who lost its tail. Seriously. We looked at it one morning and the tail was gone, baby, gone.

The other beta's belly puffed up.

We don't do well with fish.

  12. Whalesharkfish. HAHAHA!!! I love it. Sounds like my boys.

My son got a fish at a birthday party. Can you believe it? I thought that is the worst parting gift ever. Now I have to go out and buy stuff for this fish? I thought it would die right away but it lived for about 4 months. Crazy!
